WE ARE A SANDWICH SHOP.

This is the guiding principle that defines our brand and drives our activities. It is what makes Meat & Bread distinctive and is the starting point for everything we do and say. Now just past our 10 year anniversary this simple guiding principle ensures that we stay focused on delivering slow cooked quality with fast food speeds!

Our first location opened in Vancouver’s historic Gastown neighbourhood back in 2010. Guests were welcomed to an upbeat and positive ambiance, and a simple menu of a few high quality items that were served quickly on our wooden boards. The open kitchen layout allowed guests to watch the Porchetta get carved and their food prepared as they ordered it. Driven by a passion for great hospitality and food, Meat & Bread quickly became a go to lunch hot spot.

Quality

At Meat & Bread we start simply with great quality. Our fundamental belief is that animals who have had healthy, happy and stress free lives produce better meat. Our customers can feel good about what they are eating, knowing that animals had a good life. That is why we work directly with farm partners to ensure they have great quality feed, ethical raise standards and of course steroid free, hormone free and never any filler. These same principles of quality apply to all of our food including our bread, produce and even the spices we use to make our sauces.

Speed

We cook slow from scratch and care a lot about how things are executed. We pay careful attention to detail, maintaining perfect execution and look to provide exceptional service. Our meats we use are roasted or braised before service starts, so that during service we focus on portioning and building perfect sandwiches - fast!

We don’t try to be everything to everyone. We stay focused on offering a well executed core offering. From our brand identity to our store design, and marketing approach, we always keep it to the essentials. It’s simple, we make sandwiches.

Meat & Bread is looking to expand into key urban areas through out Canada. We look for dense lunch time population locations that allow us to maximize our key business day part. We are currently accepting Franchise applications within select Canadian markets
